History & Geography
The gnome, emblem of the winery since the times of Ernesto, father of Josetta and grandfather to Josetta’s daughter Sara, the last exponent of the Saffirio family, is depicted on the labels of the winery’s production and continues to fascinate the newer generations. We are in the Langhe, the land were some of the most precious Italian wines are made: Barbera, Nebbiolo, and the king of wines, Barolo. On the hill of Castelletto, extending over a total of five hectares of vineyards, mainly cultivated with Nebbiolo, the Sara Vezza winery grows its vines and, harvest after harvest, tells a story of excellence. The winery is perfectly integrated with the landscape; it is isolated with natural cork and is certified organic and sustainable, working for over than ten years now with great care and love for the environment throughout the entire production process.
