History & Geography
Fattoria Montepescini was founded in 2000. The grandfather of Massimiliano Governi (third generation), the owner of the winery, came to Montepescini in 1950 as sharecopper. In 1956 he bought the land and became direct farmer. He planted the first vinyards in the same year around the ruins of “Castelvecchio” (old castle). Until 2000 the wine was sold only in bulk then Massimiliano entered in the company and started the bottling and marketing of the wine. He unifies the oldest Tuscan winemaking traditions with the desire to search for and refine aromas and winemaking techiniques which exceed simple wine production. His enthusiasm, love for simple things and unique flavors characterize all of our work and gives us a great satisfaction in presenting our products to you.
