About the winery
The renowned name of the Fattoria Le Pupille is most certainly tied to the production of red wines; in fact the main grape variety is the Sangiovese, which accounts for 70% of the vineyards and is the soul of the various expressions of the Morellino. In addition to the Sangiovese there are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Alicante, Ciliegiolo and Petit Verdot.(some are international varietals, but profoundly entrenched within the Italian territory and particularly in Tuscany). The varietals for the production of white wine reach from Sauvignon Blanc over Traminer, to Semillon and Petit Manseng. The two wines that best represent Fattoria Le Pupille are on the one side an immediate and instant Morellino and on the other side the seductive Saffredi, which has marked the birth of the Supertuscan in Maremma and in Tuscany as well. Two wines, but one univocal philosophy, that of the territory that leads tradition, terroir and talent.

History & Geography
Everyone has Always called them this way, Le Pupille, the two colonial houses on two gentle hills in Tuscany, Maremma. Seen from high above they really seemed like two pupils of two big eyes, which relentlessly watched the sky. This story has the flavor of tradition and authenticity. Alfredo, called Fredi, decided to transform this place into a typical Tuscan farm, with two hectars of land used for growing vines for his enjoyment, as he was a keen wine enthusiast. The wine production was solely cosumed by the family and some friends. At the beginning of the eighties a couple of projects started on the grounds of Pupille and all were encouraged by Fredi. Unfortunately he died in 1985 and Elisabetta Geppetti, who was a very young art history student at that time, decided to continue the dream of Fredi, by adding to it her fresh and young interpretation. The story of Fattoria le Pupille as we now know it, starts here.
