Keswick Vineyards

About the winery
Founded in 2000, Keswick Vineyards is a family run vineyard & winery with 70 acres of vine in the award-winning Monticello AVA of Virginia. Our philosophy for winemaking is minimal intervention. We focus all of our attention on the vineyard letting sun, soil and climate predict the vintage and produce the best possible fruits. We believe this creates wines that are most reflective of the time and place and the truest expression of Virginia wine. Embracing the inevitable vintage variation allows us to not only be transparent about the quality of our wines, but also to learn from each year and continue to grow as grape growers.

History & Geography
Al and Cindy Schornberg founded Keswick Vineyards in 2000. In 2002, Stephen Barnard joined our team (and would later join the family after marrying Kat Schornberg) and began a long, award-winning career. Including "Best White Wine in United States", "Top 100 Winemaker's in the United States", "Double Gold Cabernet Sauvignon in San Fransisco International" and more. Sitting on a unique bed of Nason Silt Loam, the soil drainage on this site is of a higher quality than anywhere else in Virginia allowing grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot to fully mature and ripen in Virginia's humid climate.
