Four Maples Vineyard

About the winery
We believe in quality of our wine. Therefore, we hand picked and select the best grapes to be crushed for our wine. Every year, when weather permits, we let the grapes ripen a week or two more on the vines before picking them. This allows us to have a good brix to work with without the need to add any other sugars. The blend of Marquette and Frontenac Red make a remarkable wine to be remembered. We believe that good wine is make from the sun and aged before bottling. We aged our wine in american oak barrels for a year to enable the wine to take its own evolution and character. Once this is done, we bottle them. Each process is monitored in order to a recipe in order to achieve a consistent quality. The rest is the winemaker initiative and secret.

History & Geography
Four Maples Vineyard was founded in 2008 with our dreams and love of nature and to have a little bit of Europe and Asia in the north country. It is also to revive the heritage that was taken away. From an abandoned land, we turned it into a vineyard. Love at first sight, when we spotted the land, we envisioned the potential it can have to be our happy place. Our vineyard is gently sloping and facing south. Since we are in the north country, we planted vines that thrives and can survive the brutal winters. We have good soil that comes from the old river bed of Champlain Lake. The varietals we planted are mostly Marquette, Frontenac Red, and for the whites, St-Pépin and La Crescent. Our American Dream Plot is planted in 2010, our Big Apple plot was planted in 2012 and the Champlain Corner was planted in 2015. 2015 Cuvée Amitié was vintage was from our harvest. A homage to all our friends who helped us from the first vine we put into the ground to harvest.
