Bodega Son Juliana

Son Juliana is situated in the heart of Mallorca - between Santa María and Sencelles. The vineyard consists of nine grape varieties on seven hectares; they include traditional indigenous varieties such as Manto Negro, Callet and Giró Ros that lend the white, red and blush wines their typical aromas and enhance their taste. Son Juliana runs their wine-growing estate relying exclusively on the natural power that the island gives them every day: lots of sunshine and plenty of wind. The small size of the cultivation area is crucial for meeting the objective of Son Juliana, which is to grow wine in the closest possible harmony with nature. The area is just about small enough to still permit manual work. They protect their vines using sulphur and copper, as in organic farming and the soil is worked by using a tractor and hoe. No chemicals. The elaboration process combines traditional craftsmanship and modern cellar technology. The wines mature in French and American oak barrels.
