History & Geography
It all started in 1995 when the coniferous forest mass, which occupied the winery´s current land, was transformed into the vineyard. What started as a hobby for Jose Ángel, with 3 hectares of Hondarribi Zuri, quickly became a greater occupation, producing our first txakoli in 1998. During this first period, the wine was produced in a different location, until 2001 when the txakoli was made in the newly inaugurated facilities of Berroja Winery. In 2003, the ISO 9000-2001 quality system certification was obtained, which have subsequently been renewed annually and implemented in the winery. In 2008, the vineyard was certified in integrated production. A system still applied in the current vineyard, under the criteria that this production system requires. A year later the social space was expanded for the development of wine tourism activities in the winery. An extension of the cellar building with a large usable area and a large exterior window over the vineyard and its stunning views.
