In the heart of the Douro Valley, great wines have been made in this place since the early 18th century. Known throughout the world for its Port wines, whether the Quinta do Noval Vintage Port made from a strict selection of the best wines from our 145 hectare vineyard, or the Quinta do Noval Nacional, extraordinary product of the tiny Nacional parcel at the heart of the property, or indeed our aged Tawny Ports and Colheitas, Quinta do Noval produces great wines that bear the stamp of their origin.

History & Geography
The name of Quinta do Noval first appeared in land registries in 1715. The history of Quinta do Noval is marked by the action of visionaries, António José da Silva and later, Luiz Vasconcelos Porto. The vineyard of 145 hectares which is entirely classified letter A, is planted with the noblest grape varieties of the Douro : Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Sousão. The parcels of the vineyard possess a rich geographical diversity: . altitude : from 100 to 500 m; exposition : all the points of the compass; the soil : schist mixed in varying degrees with a little clay The magnificent old terraces made with schiste stone still represent Quinta do Noval's vineyard. Quinta do Noval is the only historic Port Shipper to use the name of its vineyard and to produce a Vintage Port from one single vineyard, when declared.
