About the winery
We love hosting people at the home of Mahi and our Cellar Door is open for private bookings by appointment only. We offer a thoughtful, honest an educational look at our winery, a chance to see behind closed doors and gain an in-depth understanding and insight into the winemaking process. As we may be busy in the winery or vineyard we do require bookings in advance and encourage you to get in touch at least a day before you intend to visit. Many guests have visited Mahi over the years and it has been a privilege to meet so many interesting and passionate wine people. History & Geography
Situated just west of Renwick in the very heart of Marlborough’s wine country, the Mahi winery has continued to evolve since its beginnings in 1984. Brian and Nicola purchased the winery and vineyard in 2006, previously occupied by sparkling producer Daniel Le Brun. They set about converting the former onsite restaurant into their cellar door space and in 2008 completed an extensive winery upgrade. Continual improvements are made in the winery with ongoing maintenance of the underground caves and the addition of a new lab in 2012.
