About the winery
Set on 40 acres of beautiful vines, in the heart of Gibbston wine region Kinross offers a unique experience to our guests. Showcasing not only our own wines, but also wines from 5 other high end local wineries as their official cellar door. These labels are Coal Pit, Domaine Thomson, Hawkshead, Valli and Wild Irishman. Our wine advisors are proud to represent these labels and share the stories and details fluently. Kinross also offers food for both lunch and dinner in our on site bistro, and boasts beautiful vineyard accommodation in our vineyard cottages. Open year round (excl. Christmas Day) our cellar door is a one stop shop showcasing the best of Central Otago wines.

History & Geography
The site on which Kinross wines was built goes back as far as the Central Otago gold rush in the 1860's. Settled by Thomas Kinross and his family, this site had a general store and sold provisions to the travelling miners. Kinross as known today, was established in 2014, on an existing vineyard. The idea of bringing boutique labels together was warmly welcomed by our 'wine partners' and we became the home and official cellar door for labels which are world renowned.
