About the winery
The winery is built over 4 hectares (almost 10 acres) within the township of Rionero in Vulture, in Basilicata and it is located on the slopes of Mount Vulture, along the road leading from Rionero in Vulture to the lakes of Monticchio. Terra dei Re mission is to drive agricultural production toward sustainable practices. Friend of the Earth’s certification standard rewards those companies that operate in accordance with the practices of sustainable agriculture and farming: reducing the impact on the ecosystem to a negligible level, improve energy efficiency and waste management, use integrated pest management practices, comply with the regulations implement social responsibility practices.

History & Geography
Nature endowed this Basilicata terroir with the enriching influence of the volcano that gave the area its name: Vulture. Through the centuries, the latter’s lava and mineral components nurtured the surrounding terrain. Thanks to such extraordinary geological characteristics, the noble grape of Aglianico found here one of its finest expressions: Aglianico del Vulture. This wine is aged in wooden cask for two years and one year in bottle to give it softness and pleasant aromatic notes. The grapes come only from “Piano di Carro” vineyard.
