Martoccia Di Brunelli

Passion for wine and land, love for tradition. For two generations, we express these values, together with care and seriousness, in what we produce

About the winery
In the last two years, Martoccia Winery has been involved in a big project of winery enlargment. It was not only about the cellar but just in front of it, a new tasting room dedicated to hospitality and welcome has been built. It is really important for us to have a proper place where we can offer to our friends and guests a tasting of our wines and the knowledge about these. A welcoming and familiar place, where we can tell our work and passion. The tour will guide you through discovery of the various stages of production of our wines. You will see where the winemaking and ageing process take place, but also the warehouse where we store our bottles and the exteriors of our recently renovated cellar. Following a guided tasting of our wines, together with bruschetta with our olive oil. We offer to our guests the opportunity to have different kind of tastings, starting from a classic wine tasting until longer tastings with meals.

History & Geography
Ours is a land rich in farming tradition where sharecropping families lived and worked in the countryside around Montalcino. Mauro Brunelli and Anna Savini, owners of the Brunelli Estate, both come from farming families who have always lived in Montalcino. Their families abandoned the cultivation of land at the end of the Sixties to dedicate themselves to other activities, as many locals did. In 1964, the Brunelli family moved to Martoccia a small farm of about three hectares. In 1995, together with Luca, only child of Anna and Mauro, they bought more land where they planted vines.Currently, the Brunelli Estate covers 25 hectares of land. 10 hectars are vineyards, part as Brunello di Montalcino D.O.C.G. Other 4 Ha are part of the property in the Montecucco area. The rest is olives groves and woodland.
