Haraszthy Vineyards

New tastes of tradition - Haraszthy Vineyards & Matador restaurant

About the winery
Haraszthy Vineyards is an international winery producing high quality wines by combining the Hungarian winemaking traditions with Argentinian virtue and modern technology. We utilize modern techniques inspired by traditional methods to make distinctive wines full of character. Our winemaker, Dániel Pázmányi, takes fastidious care to ensure that only perfectly ripe, healthy grapes go into our wines. Our winery is a perfect venue for gastronomy lovers. We identify the Matador restaurant as an international grill and smoker house and that happens to be inside of a winery, that’s why we try to be consistent on adding smokey flavors into our dishes but always being careful of not overlapping the wines.

History & Geography
The winery was founded in 1996 in Etyek, Hungary which is acclaimed as one of the top vineyards in Hungary. The vineyard’s soil and climate conditions are very similar to Burgundia as the steady temperature and moderate weather is essential for making good quality wine. With its 143 hectares it is the biggest land owner winery in Etyek-Buda Wine Region. The winery is named after Ágoston Haraszthy a pioneer hungarian winemaker who discovered the great capabilities of winemaking in California territory where he introduced more than three hundred varieties of European grapes. He is, often referred to as the "Father of Californian Viticulture”. Haraszthy winery is dedicated to his incredible life legacy.
