Domaine de Rocheville

Wines, expressions, ... emotions !

About the winery
Domaine de Rocheville – Philippe Porché created the winery 15 years ago. He is a wine enthusiast. Helped by his wife Agnès and Jérôme Callet a young viticulturist, they started to grow their vines in a sustainable then organic way. They built a state-of-the-art new winery aiming to fully reveal the true personality of their only two varietals: Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc. Today they provide high-quality wines following the standards of Organic Farming and Vinification. The Saumur Champigny appellation is located in a small triangle between Tours and Angers. The clay-limestone terroirs of Rocheville are among the most interesting. The winery is open for tours all year long, a splendid opportunity to discover the world around the production of wine with 3 different routes. It was also nominated at the Trophies of Winetourism in France in 2019 and won a Gold Prize in 2020.

History & Geography
Therefore, they produce 4 different styles of Saumur Champigny. 2 are aged in stainless still vats with the purpose of keeping them fruity and emphasizing a fine bouquet of red and black fruits. The 2 others are aged for a longer time in oak barrels. This ensures a long-lasting life with deeper tannins and flavors. The name of their wines gives a small idea of their personality: the Page and the Prince for the formers and the King and the Jester for the laters. They also grow Chenin Blanc for the white wines, La Jouvencelle, and La Dame. Their dry Saumur rosé is Le Troubadour. They produce only one tank of this wine every year.Their wines are awarded in prestigious French and international contests each and every year. If you want to taste their amazing wines, you can take a tour of their winery. There, cellars, vineyards, and the wonderful terrace over Parnay valley and the Loire are a must-visit for every wine lover.
