History & Geography
Rives-Blanques has been owned and managed by the Anglo-Dutch Panman family for two decades, where two generations live and work together in happy harmony. Limoux has been famous for its sparkling wines ever since the 16th century, and is the first and oldest wine appellation of the Languedoc. Well before that, the Roman historian Livy made reference to Limoux's 'wines of light' - by which he surely meant white wine - and the Panmans are an acknowledged 'engine of the appellation' driving its modern-day reputation for excellence. All the wines are made from only their own grapes, grown on this 30 ha estate.
