About the winery
Perched on two beautiful Gunzian gravel ridges, Lagrange’s 118-hectare vineyard spreads over an impressive single block in the Saint-Julien appellation. For decades now the uncompromising quest for excellence has been a true philosophy here, thanks to an exceptional terroir and the team’s innovative and precise approach. Year after year, the traditional painstaking vine-care and plot-by-plot vinification give birth to an elegant, powerful wine with wonderful ageing potential. History & Geography
Saint-Julien, there is something magical about this name. It certainly comes from its history and its land. Located 40 km from Bordeaux, the Château Lagrange is one of the properties that meets the appellation of Saint-Julien, whose record is prestigious: 11 Crus representing 85% of the vineyard. We are committed to respectful viticulture, we support the work of the men and women present on our estate in order to preserve our heritage and our land. 17 different soils and subsoils have been identified, thus making it possible to adapt the grape varieties and rootstocks to the terroirs, and to push the approach of tailor-made viticulture , plot by plot. From the choice of plants to manual and traditional work in the vineyard, our philosophy consists in maintaining a homogeneous and reasoned production. During our manual harvest, we pay particular attention to the selection of our best bunches to extract the quintessence of their character and their singularity.
