About the winery
In 2008, Dr.Karl-Heinz Hauptmann from Germany founded Chateau Nine Peaks Winery in Qingdao, China, with a total area of 150 hectares, of which about 90 hectares of vines are planted. The winery is located at the foot of Nine Peaks Mountains in Laixi, hence the name Chateau Nine Peaks. At present, it mainly grows the grape varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Gernischt, Marselan, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Syrah, Alibernet, Chardonnay and Petit Manseng. Learning from on French planting and vinification methods, we focus on making pure wines to express our terroir. Actually, we produce red, white and rose wines. Chateau Nine Peaks is not only popular among Chinese consumers, but also exported to France, Britain, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. We believe that high quality wines can be produced on the great Chinese land, which will be the energy of Chinese Terroir.

At Chateau Nine Peak, the quality of our wines is more than a goal—it is a core value. Our credo is guided by the pursuit of excellence and desire to produce the highest quality grapes and wines. Tsingtao Region, Shandong Peninsula, China. East longitude 120°17 ", north latitude 36°51. The winery has a total area of 150hectares, of which about 90 hectares are vine planted. The vineyard is located on a south-facing hill side, with good ventilation and sufficient sunshine. The vineyard is well drained, rich in minerals and organic matter, to ensure the healthy growth of the vines. Monsoon continental climate, as a non-buried area for vines during the winter, the annual accumulated temperature is 3600-3800 and the frost-free period is long. The annual sunshine time reaches 2,450 hours, and the annual rainfall is between 640mm and 850mm. The average annual temperature is 11.7ºC, the maximum temperature during the day is up to 35ºC, and the minimum temperature at night reaches -10ºC.
