History & Geography
Viñedos Veramonte with Neyen, has formed part of the González Byass Group since 2016. It’s a Spanish family company with more than 180 years of history and dedication to the world of wine. The founder of Viñedos Veramonte was Agustín Huneeus, a wine pioneer in Chile and a great visionary, who at the end of the 1980s began his project in Casablanca. In search of new expressions and styles of wine, Veramonte merged with Viña Neyen in 2011. This property dates from 1890 and was part of the Apalta cooperative, which passed through the hands of the Rojas family between 1973 and 1976. The Rojas family remains today as partners of the González Byass family in the Viñedos Veramonte project.
