Paisley Wines

Paisley is located in the beautiful Barossa Valley, with wines that are textural, elegant and refined.

About the winery
Derek and Kirsten are a husband and wife team who made the first vintage of Paisley in 2016, and then started selling the wines in 2017. We are situated in Angaston on a stunning 15-acre Vineyard with 30 year old Shiraz and new Mataro and Fiano plantings, with views from every vantage point. We started with the three red grape varieties Derek believes the Barossa does best – Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro. Our range has now been extended to include a Grenache Rose and an Adelaide Hills Fiano . The wines are all about elegance and finesse, with bright fruit and textural influences. The aim is to let the attributes of the vineyard and the fruit shine by using minimal intervention in the winery. Our company is named after the town of Paisley, just outside Glasgow Scotland which is where Kirsten’s great, great, great, great grandfather hailed from before settling in Adelaide in 1839. Private tastings are available with notice, we’d love to show off our gorgeous views and wines to you soon.

History & Geography
After starting up our company in 2016, we made our first five wines from the classic Barossa varieties, Shiraz, Mataro and Grenache. These wines are made with partnering food in mind and we aim to make wines that people can enjoy regardless of the occasion. Derek has been a Winemaker for over 20 years with more than half in the Barossa Valley, Kirsten has worked in wine sales, marketing, events and hospitality for many years. In 2018 we were so lucky to purchase a stunning vineyard property in Angaston, perched on top of a hill with breathtaking views. We live here now and daily we can see kangaroos munching on the grass between our vine rows, go and talk to our handful of sheep (three of which are babydoll miniature sheep and are so cute), gather eggs from the chicken co-op and watch our new Fiano and Mataro vines grow bigger.
