History & Geography
Clairault has been at the forefront of winemaking in the Margaret River region since 1976, when Ani and Ian Lewis established their first four hectares of vines. The Streicker family owned and managed three vineyards throughout the region and a protea farm, with Clairault being the latest addition to the family in 2012. Now Clairault Streicker has four vineyards spanning over 200 hectares under vine, a stunning café and cellar door, and over 40 years of history. Margaret River is located in the remote south west corner of Australia, stretching 100km from north to south, surrounded by ocean on three sides. With its strongly maritime-influenced Mediterranean climate and ancient gravel soils, Margaret River is blessed with ideal conditions for premium viticulture. Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon blends are the region’s flagship wines, known for their fruit purity, perfume, structure and consistency.
