History & Geography
The “place where one’s heart rests” exists, and for Paolo Radici, wine-passionate businessman, inspiration struck as in 1996 he visited the extraordinary corner of Franciacorta, sheltered by the hill on which the piano master Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli built his house. The residence was perfect, light-filled and airy, with a 360° view out over the countryside, stretching from Lago d’Iseo to the plain. It was also surrounded by a vineyard, whose sight re-awakened his youthful dream of making wine for himself and his friends. And that's how, in 1999, Radici began the construction of the winemaking facility at the foot of the hill, satisfying the technological requirements of a modern winery aspiring to excellence. Particular attention is devoted to hospitality too. Nowadays, Ronco Calino is a real haven for winelovers who are welcomed in fancy halls adorned with unusual details like titanic chandeliers and hanging sofas.
