ABOUT THE WINERY
Il Cipresso is located in a wonderful farm house dating back to 1600, surrounded by the vineyards of Scanzorosciate (near Bergamo, north Italy); it produces exquisite wine, grappa and high-quality chocolate.
The vineyards cover an area of four hectares and grow carefully selected grapes, which are used to produce the fine Moscato di Scanzo DOCG wine and Valcalepio DOC wine, the typical wines of Bergamo.
At Il Cipresso, each wine is the result of the farmer’s love for his land and its fruits.
HISTORY & GEOGRAPHY
Il Cipresso started to produce Moscato di Scanzo DOCG and Valcalepio DOC in the year 2000. The passion for nature and the strong ecological mind has pushed us to produce only with the principles of organic agriculture.
Moscato di Scanzo DOCG is produced exclusively from our Moscato di Scanzo grapes. The average production is 4000 bottles per year. The production of Moscato di Scanzo includes production limits per hectare and duration of controlled aging.
Before being placed on the market, wine must be evaluated by a group of winemakers whose task is to ensure the quality and typicality of the product; only afterwards the wine can be assigned the band of state that designates the denomination of controlled and guaranteed origin.
