About the winery
The Etyeki Kúria Winery earned its reputation by innovating while respecting traditions, a key milestone was pioneering Pinot Noir planting in the wine region. The head winemaker, Sándor Mérész joined the team ten years ago, shaping the unique style of the wines ever since. Etyek is a great place, because the vines benefit from fantastic conditions, which is a tremendous advantage to be safeguarded. As for Sopron, the team firmly believes that among the Hungarian red wine regions, this is where wines with the longest aging potential can be made.

History & Geography
The winery was established in 1996, when most privately owned wineries were founded in Hungary after the fall of the Iron Curtain. From the initial 1.5 hectares, our vineyard surface and our team have grown gradually to reach 54 hectares in two wine regions, in Etyek-Buda close to Budapest and Sopron, in the northwestern corner of Hungary.
