Bolney Winey

Guided by Nature since 1972

About the winery
Visit Bolney Wine Estate for a great day out. You can stroll where eight varieties of grapes (including Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) are grown and find out how - guided by nature and Sussex’s mild climate – we make some of the finest still and sparkling English wines on our welcoming, family-run estate. We have a state-of-the-art winery, which is fascinating even for non-wine drinkers, and a tasting room where all the fun of sampling happens. We offer a range of tours. These include The Taster Tour, the Sparkling afternoon Tea Tour (accompanied by a glass of sparkling Bolney Rose) and The Grand Gourmet Tour. Whichever tour you choose you will get to sample our lovely wines. And don’t forget our Vineyard Trail, which are designed for all the family to enjoy. Then there’s our Eighteen Acre Café that has a stunning viewing balcony overlooking the ripening vines. It’s great place for a spot of lunch with guests or with the family (and we include the dog in that) or simply catching up

History & Geography
In the heart of rural Sussex lies Bolney Wine Estate, one of England’s oldest and most beautiful vineyards. A three generation family business led by Sam Linter, we have been guided by nature since 1972 when our first vines were planted. Guided by nature – the mild climate and the sandstone soil – we spent years discovering the best varieties of grapes to grow in our eco-system. We work carefully and mindfully when harvesting, never using machines to collect our grapes – everything is done by hand. We believe that the more we understand and take inspiration from the nature around us the more we can appreciate its needs and protect its diversity and beauty for future generations. Sam, along with her expert team produces award-winning still and sparkling wines from our famous Pinot Noir and Estate Bacchus to our classic sparkling Bolney Bubby and Blanc de Blancs. We also produce Rosso Vermouth using foraged hedgerow fruits and herbs.
