History & Geography
We are a family winery located in Gumiel de Mercado, a privileged village situated of the D.O. Ribera del Duero, since it has always been a town with a wine-growing tradition. Its structure is medieval and in the center of the town, there is a hill where our ancestors excavated the underground cellars to elaborate and preserve their wines. We, Asier and Rodrigo, grew up here, where our parents and grandparents taught us the winemaking process very early, along with the most important thing, to understand that respect for the land, love and care of the vineyard transmits from generation to generation. We have a vineyard surface of 48 hectares, and the most widespread red variety is “tinta fina” or “Tempranillo”, with approximately 45 hectares. Next to 2 has. of Cabernet Sauvignon, 1 ha. of Merlot and 1 ha. of white variety, Albillo. Our wines are made from grapes exclusively owned, they are located in said Burgos term, with an altitude of about 830m.
