About the winery
Mount Michael Wines can definitely be considered as one the smaller, boutique Central Otago producers on offer in our region. You can visit us at our tasting room located in Frankton, just five minutes from Queenstown and right by the airport. Our tasting room is part of The Country Lane Precinct where you can shop at boutique stores, eat and the café, experience with wine and honey tastings, or just relax and watch the kids play in our lovely garden and playground. No bookings required but we do recommend you call ahead for larger groups.

History & Geography
Mount Michael is the southernmost peak of the Pisa, overlooking Lowburn, looking across the lake and North to Bendigo and South East towards Gibbston, our three growing regions. Like the mountain, we have a pioneering spirit with a rich history of planting and making wines in Central Otago dating back to 1994. Present day - not much has changed, we are still exploring the region in pursuit of perfect growing conditions and flawless fruit while discovering new and evolving wine making techniques to continue to produce small parcel, handcrafted Pinot Noirs, Pinot Gris and Pinot Rose.
