History & Geography
We have been working on this project of our own wine production since many years. Finally, three year ago we stared with the establishment of a new vineyard that is right in the heart of the estate. The location gives also the name to our wine, in fact Baccicaia is the name of the field where the vineyard is planted and it problably origins from the italian word "barricaia" that means wine barrel. First established in March 2018, our vineyard is part of our long-term vision at the Murlo Estate. In a few years’ time, our vineyard, located in the heart of the Estate, will be ready for its first harvest. We will produce a red wine whose name has been inspired by one of our oldest trees, the Cerqua del Marchese, a giant centuries-old oak tree.
