TEDESCHI: four centuries of history and tradition of wine, a pioneer of Valpolicella cru wines

About the winery
The Tedeschi wine range includes the entire panorama of the appellation of origin: Valpolicella, Valpolicella Classico Superiore, Ripasso, Amarone and Recioto. These wines are the result of expertise and extreme care for each single detail: powerful but elegant wines with great personality and a strong typical character. As a result, they are appreciated all over the world and the family is a point of reference for the Valpolicella. The Tedeschi family’s vineyards (about 46 ha) all lie on the best hillside sites of Valpolicella. Thanks to the zoning research, a perfect knowledge of the soils and of the behaviour of the vines in each individual vineyard parcel has allowed to optimize the vineyard husbandry and to put the finishing touches to the process of increasing environmental sustainibility . Today the company is certified according to Biodiversity Friend and Equalitas standards.

History & Geography
Tedeschi family boasts strong ties with the Valpolicella area that go back almost four centuries as indicated by historical documents dating back to the seventeenth century. Since 1630 Tedeschi has believed in the considerable potential of its wine production and has reinterpreted it in a modern key. It has adopted the most innovative methods in the wine cellar and in the vineyards, always striving to create a wine that can best express the characteristics of this magnificent area. A forward-thinking style by nature, since the early 60s, when Lorenzo Tedeschi had the fortunate idea of vinifying the grapes from the Monte Olmi vineyard separately, thus creating one of the very first single-vineyard wines in Valpolicella. Today Tedeschi is one of the leading companies in the Valpolicella and contributes to the knowledge of the wines of the province of Verona throughout the world.
