History & Geography
Welcome to the world of wine at Castel di Salve; the world of Negroamaro, Primitivo, Malvasia Nera di Lecce and sweet Aleatico. This area, situated in the South Eastern Italian region of Puglia, has a great wine-growing and producing tradition. The land of baroque, of singers and dancers of ‘taranta’, apart from the wines, Salento is also admired and sought after for its art and landscape with its layers of history spread down here in the heel of Italy, in the South east between the Ionian and the Adriatic. Between Capo d’Otranto and Capo di Leuca, in the village of Depressa, near Tricase, there is the Castel di Salve wine cellar.
