About the winery
The estate has a total area of 50 hectares in which 14 hectares are the vineyards. They grow all their grapes in these vineyards to produce all their wines. The vines are between 10 to 40 years old and the majority if grapes grown are Sangiovese and Vernaccia di San Gimignano. These are used to make Chianti and Vernaccia di San Gimignano wines respectively. Some other autochthonous grapes grown in their vineyards are Colorino, Canaiolo, Mammolo, Ciliegiolo and Foglia Tonda. There are also some more varieties such as Ancellotta, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malvasia Nera, Merlot, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Rebo, Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Nero and Pinot Grigio. All these varieties allow them to produce many wines with suitable blends which are highly focused on terroir. The estate is a located in the beautiful Tuscan wine country and visiting it will be worth their while for any wine enthusiasts.

History & Geography
Azienda Agricola Campochiarenti is the winery named after the locality it is established in San Gimignano in Tuscany. The history of Campochiarenti can be traced back to the end of 10th century when the church of Saint Nicholas was built in this area. This area has historical importance for wine production as there are documentation of wine ¬exports from Campochiarenti region from as far back as 1276. The winery that stands now was established in 1977 by the current owners to remember the rich history of Campochiarenti.
