Weingut H. Gindorf

Wine is bottled poetry - Robert Louis Balfour Stevenson

About the winery
Wendell Barry said, “We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.” This saying shapes our work. We see to it every day that we produce our wine as carefully as possible – starting in the vineyard. It is also important that our guests have the opportunity to experience this magnificent landscape first hand, admire it and ultimately appreciate it. The taste of the wine reminds us of those who have gone before, augments today’s celebration with friends and with the family, and sets a goal for us – to return the beautiful landscape intact to our children.

History & Geography
Weingut Gindorf – a boutique winery run by an American expat family nestled in Lieser on the Mosel. While touring Europe's wine regions our owners fell in love with the incomparable vineyards of the Mosel. The family moved from Texas to Germany and acquired the winery in 2016, where three generations of the family now work on the estate. We concentrate on the high-quality production of traditional Mosel varietals – Riesling, Weißburgunder and Spätburgunder. By using only estate-grown fruit, we produce wines which faithfully reflect our classic terroir – the sun-baked slate hills of the Mosel.
