History & Geography
Jean Stodden, The Redwine Estate, is a small producer of premium quality Pinot Noir made entirely from grapes grown on their 7 ha estate nestled in the Ahr-valley near Bonn Germany. The family has a long wine-making tradition, and has been growing grapes in the Ahr valley since 1578. Alois Stodden started vinifying his own Pinot Noir grapes in 1900. “As Winemaker, we believe that only by tending our wines we can produce the finest wines. Low yields in the vineyards and minimal handling in the winery allow us to create wines of depth, elegance, concentration and character. They are the ultimate expression of the earth from which they are born.”
