History & Geography
The Prüm name has been synonomous with quality wines in the Mosel for generations. Since 1156, the Prüm family has owned vineyards in the villages of Bernkastel, Graach and Wehlen- some of the most famous villages in the region. In 1842 one of ancestors, Jodocus Prüm, erected the sundial (Sonnenuhr)that became a landmark for the Middle-Mosel area and lends its name to many of the finest wines from the Prüm estate. With his inheritance, in 1911 Sebastian Aloi Prüm continued the original wine estate that carries his name up to these days. He set the foundation for success of the next generations.
