History & Geography
The Leflaives can trace their Burgundian history back to Claude Leflaivewho made his home in Place du Monument in Puligny-Montrachet in 1717. Since then, the family has always owned vines in Burgundy. In 1981, after working as an artist in Paris, Olivier Leflaive returned to his roots and came back to Burgundy to help run the family estate with his uncle Vincent. In 1984, he created the Olivier Leflaive company, with the help of his brother Patrick and his uncle. He was a trailblazer in the region, deciding to buy in grapes and musts to vinify them himself. As such, he created the notion of haute-couture winemaking. deciding to buy in grapes and musts to vinify them himself. As such,Since its creation, our estate has continued to grow. We age and vinify grapes from 120 hectares of vines, including 17 we own ourselves, with a majority of white wines, mainly Chardonnay, mainly from Côte de Beaune : Puligny- Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Meursault.
