History & Geography
Located at the base of Terrasse du Larzac, the Domaine de la Dourbie emerged in 1781. The name comes from « La Dourbie » as the small river that go through the Domaine. The estate took shape with the vine and wine passion of the different owners. In 2003, Emmanuel Serin, decided to modernise the Domaine by renovating the cellar, the barrel cellar house and by open a wine-tasting cellar. His wish to become closer to nature led him to convert the Domaine in organic growing in 2009. The domaine expand to 32 acres: 20 acres in Protected Geographical Indication, that surrounds the Domaine hosted by the Hérault river, Dourbie river and neighborhood beehives giving this typicity to our wines. 12 acres in Protected Designation of Origin located in Vendemian in the Rouveyrolles Valley, an isolated dale reaching an altitude of 200 meters, surrounded by garrigue with a limestone soil where a realm of a unique microclimate which brings freshness and mineralogy to our wines.
