Château George 7

A boutique winery on the right bank of Bordeaux

About the winery
We are delighted to welcome you to Château George 7 to walk in the vines, experience our spacious tasting room and wine school with a vineyard tour, lunch or a workshop and of course, to taste and enjoy our wines. In addition to the award-winning wines we make on the property we also serve other local wines, beer and produce to enjoy over lunch or as an apéritif while on the terrace overlooking the vines. Our name reflects our mission - to blend the best of the heritage and tradition of Bordeaux with forward-looking wine-making approaches and techniques. We take sustainability seriously in how we approach work in the vines and the winery.

History & Geography
Château George 7 was established in 2017 - a newly equipped winery nestled in a plot of mature 35 year old vines with an exceptional tasting facility opened in 2020. Just a few minutes (5kms) from Libourne, the appellation of Fronsac offers exceptionally pretty countryside with vine-clad undulations and beautiful views around every corner. Wines from Fronsac were the first from the right bank to grace the tables of French royalty in Versailles. Merlot flourishes here in the Fronsac terroir of clay soil over the underlying limestone plateau which stretches across the village of Saillans. So here at about 60m above sea level, we tend each small parcel of the 3-hectare estate according to its specific aspect and particularities to encourage the very best it has to offer. Come and taste the result - new generation Fronsac wines that have been winning awards right from the first vintage.
