Maipo Andes Valley- Organic Wines The estate is situated in Pirque, south of Santiago and one of the most prestigious areas of the Maipo Valley. It is located at the foothills of the cordillera de Los Andes, a privileged area for vineyards. Due to its unique geographical and climatic conditions, the Maipo Andes sub-area (estern part of Maipo Valley), where Pirque is situated, is renowned for its production of red grape varieties, especially Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Carménère.

History & Geography
Haras de Pirque’s name honors the country’s oldest thoroughbred breeding stud, founded in 1892, few steps away from the current estate. In 2001, after visiting and falling in love with the Maipo Valley area, the Marchese Piero Antinori, together with the Matte family of Chile, former owner of the estate since 1991, decided to manage and produce a distinctive red blend harmonizing local and international varieties. After an initial joint-venture and the creation of the estate’s flagship wine, Albis, the partnership successfully progressed as Marchesi Antinori took over the vineyards and winemaking operations in 2014 until the full acquisition in 2017.
