History & Geography
Agustín Huneeus was a pioneer when he planted 40 hectares (60 acres) of Sauvignon Blanc in the Casablanca valley. His vision grew further when he built the first winery in the valley in 1998, with a 16 meter (50 ft.) high central hall. This fulfilled his dream of creating a Napa style winery, a meeting place in which to offer a variety of experiences centered on wine. Viñedos Veramonte now is part of the González Byass Wine Family, a Spanish company with more than 180 years of trajectory in the wine industry and which leads important projects in the most important wine regions in Spain. González Byass is a well-known company world wide due to its famous Tío Pepe Jerez
