The winery specializes in Austrian-variety wines such as Gruner Veltliner, Blaufrankisch and Zweigelt. It also produces the classics for which the Adelaide Hills wine region is renowned - cool-climate Shiraz, Rose and Pinot Grigio. Hahndorf Hill has won numerous international and national awards for its wines. Its inviting cellar door is a multiple, tourism-award winner and features ChocoVino - a unique chocolate and wine matching experience based on the concept of terroir.

History & Geography
Hahndorf Hill Winery was established by Larry Jacobs and Marc Dobson in 2002. They had immigrated from South Africa where Larry had owned and operated Mulderbosch Vineyard in Stellenbosch. Larry and Marc made extensive changes to Hahndorf Hill, including the planting of Gruner Veltliner and other Austrian-variety grapes.
