Tenuta Ammiraglia

Toscana by the sea

About the winery

It is with great pleasure that Frescobaldi opens the doors of their most prestigious estates. Places rich in charm and old Castles where the beauty of Tuscan countryside is revealed through thousand years of history. A unique opportunity to experience fascinating views, tastings and events. All the Frescobaldi estates lie in areas with lengthy, prestigious winegrowing reputations, but they also boast inimitable natural beauty. Castello Pomino, Castello Nipozzano, Tenuta Perano, Tenuta Castiglioni, Tenuta CastelGiocondo, and Tenuta Ammiraglia may be visited by reservation throughout the year, offering guided tastings of Frescobaldi wines and Laudemio extravirgin olive oil, as well as locally-grown specialty foods that are prepared in accord with Tuscan traditions.

The estate of Ammiraglia is a place of unquestionable natural beauty, captivating and impeccable, set in a territory of great potential for the production of high quality wines.

In particular the cellars, designed by Piero Sartogo and Nathalie Grenon represent one of the most perfect combinations of innovation, technology and respect for the environment. The building simply merges into its surroundings.

History & Geography

The wines of Tenuta Ammiraglia represent a modern, more Mediterranean Tuscany, facing seawards in search of a new horizon. The Frescobaldis believe in the potential of these lands, warmed by the sun and mitigated by the sea and its breezes, whose wines are distinguished by the freshness, minerality and richness of the fruit. The Ammiraglia winery, built by the architect Piero Sartogo, is reminescent, with its modern lines, of the prow of a ship pointing towards the sea, in search of this new horizon. Perfectly integrated amid the hills and covered with greenery and arborescent plants, it combines the most recent technological advances with respect for the territory and surrounding nature.
