About the winery

Our vineyards are planted in a cool to moderate climate in Štajerska Slovenia region where big majority of the grapes are whites. We produce delicate and precise varietal whites containing Alpine freshness coming from nearby Pohorje range. Pinot Noir and Blaufränkisch are our latest developments. The quality of our wines is well recognized. Dveri-Pax wines have won awards from the most respectful international wine tastings - such as Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA), AWC Vienna and many others. At the DWWA 2011 in London, our Furmint / Šipon straw wine 2009 won the highest award - International Trophy, proving the superior quality of Dveri-Pax wines even when compared against the top wine producers of the world.

History & Geography

Between 1130-1135, the estate around Jarenina Manor was donated to the Church by the nobleman Rudolf Wittenswald. By the bishop Konrad I. from Salzburg, the property was then assigned to the Benedictine monastery at Admont. In the following centuries, the property expanded through purchases and donations. The Benedictine order also received possession of the vineyards at Železne Dveri and Kapela. In the year 1300, the abbot Engelbert from Admont bought the vineyard at Železne Dveri from Lube Valb, a bourgeois from Radgona. A few century long tradition of winemaking at our place was interrupted in 1930's by Nazis and continued in 2002. Dveri-Pax is owned by Benedictins from Admont Abbey in Austria.
