Domaine La Tasque

Small, family run vineyard making hand-crafted red and rosé wines.

About the winery
Domaine La Tasque is a family owned winery with just 5 hectares of organically farmed vines set amongst the rolling countryside of the Languedoc and surrounded by wild herbs and pine trees. The flagship wine is made from old vine Carignan, the emblematic grape of the Languedoc and the domaine also produces an opulent, stylish Syrah and a bone dry Rosé. There is no swish tasting room – tastings are informal and in the winery, surrounded by tanks and barrels where the winemaker Juliet gives a personal, entertaining insight into the wines and the life of a wine producer in the south of France. Tastings are by appointment only and are free for small groups of up to 6 people. Vineyard tours with tastings (approx. 2 hours) are also available, price dependent on the size of group.

History & Geography
The owners are Juliet Bruce Jones, a British Master of Wine and her husband Simon who only made their first vintage in 2014 but have quickly established themselves as rising stars of the Langueodoc wine scene. Juliet has been in the wine business for 30 years and is an expert on Languedoc wines and loves sharing her passion for the region and its wines. The cellar is in the historic village of Mailhac, between Carcassonne and Beziers and 15 minutes drive from Minerve, one of the most beautiful villages in France.
