About the winery
Casaloste is a first - generation winery owned by Giovanni and Emilia d’Orsi. The estate extends for 18 hectares of which 10.5 are dedicated to the vineyards. Altitude is of about 360 metres on the sea level Giovanni is an agronomist and oenologist, who oversees all winemaking personally, from harvest to bottling (on-site), assisted by his wife Emilia who is managing along side the marketing activities. Since its beginning - harvest 1993 - Casaloste has been committed to sustainable projects , at first adopting organic farming - EU certification dates back to 1994 - and then more recently settling solar panels for energy savings Casaloste wine philosophy is focused on the entrepreneurial project aiming at the excellence of its wines Production is based only on red wines, both Chianti Classico DOCG, and IGT

History & Geography
Casaloste is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, in between the gentle hills of Florence and Siena, next the historical village of Panzano in Chianti. we are about 30 km from Florence and 30 km from Siena Casaloste stone building is assumed to be built in the 1200 and used as a watch tower to defend the border between Florence and Siena. It therefore seems that its name is strictly connected to that purpose being as "house hosting" ( soldiers) Panzano is listed among the villages in the edict of Cosimo III, Grand Duke of Tuscany, who in 1716 officially delimited the production zone of Chianti wine Panzano in Chianti has a favorable position with its ideal microclimate and terroir altitude is about 450 metres on the sea level and it nowadays considered one of the best sites for the excellence of the wine production.
